NLM

2nd XI vs Parets les Valles
Lost by a few goals to nil. They were a superbly organised team playing sharp tic-a-tac football. We worked hard and chased them down but they were a class above us.
MoM was Sam who gave 200%.
Mention for Josh M. who showed leadership and a great deal of maturity in the face of adversity.

1st XI vs Parets les Valles
2:2 (0:2 HT)
A quality football match. After the hard time that the second team had the firsts were apprehensive and let the opposition come at them, giving them time and space to play their game.
Then, after an inspirational team talk from H, our boys went for it. We competed and broke up the home team's game plan.
Cosmo needs a special mention as he led the team by example, scoring both goals: one from open play and one from the penalty spot. However, the real stars were the defence who made block after block, throwing their bodies on the line and making tackle after tackle.
Kai was solid in goal demonstrating good positioning and excellent distribution.
The whole team "put in a shift" according to H and this exciting game makes the perfect conclusion to a brilliant tour.

Overall stats:
Girls: played 2, won 2
1st XI: played 2, lost 1, drew 1
2nd XI: played 2, lost 1, won 1

Overall that makes: won 3, drew 1, lost 2 which is not bad at all and shows development from last year.

Pre-Match preparation

Getting ready for the last two matches. First a team meeting to talk tactics and discuss what we learned in this mornings training session with the FCB coaches.
Then some activities to destress ...

And now off for our floodlit matches....

Nightmare on La Rambla

Before getting the metro back to our hotel to catch up with the boys, we watched some of the street performers on La Rambla. Some enjoyed this more than others!

When in Spain...

....shop til you drop and....

...eat as much churros as you can!

Giddy up

We also managed to fit in some horse riding....sort of!!

Look what we found!

Here you go H:

On our travels we found some Picasso (or some Picasso inspired work at least).

Checking out the yachts

Once we had looked at the old cathedral, we made out way to Port Vell.

After looking at the impressive yachts it was time for an ice cream break.

Catedral de Barcelona

We then walked to the old cathedral and the girls made some interesting comparisons between this and La Segrada Família.

Then we went into the cathedral and saw the beautiful interior.

Outside in the cloisters we saw thirteen white geese. These represent each year of the life of Saint Eulalia.

Museo Picasso

Once we had arrived in Central Barcelona we walked to the Picasso museum. On our way we walked past a few sights including the square where they build human towers - we refrained from trying ourselves!

Unfortunately, we didn't realise the museum was closed on a Monday. But the outside was very nice!

Girls on tour

We are off!

Our first mission was to buy a ticket for the metro. We managed this (with a little help!) and we are now on our way to the museum.

Training with FCB

We walked down to the pitch where we were met by two Barca coaches:

We did a warm up:

Then some skills and shooting ...

And don't forget to hydrate with the Water of Life:

After the session:

Mr Miller found the other Irons' fan...
... Yes we are still 4th in the premiership!
